Algae helps coral by transferring sunlight into food by using photosynthesis. In return the coral gives the algae carbon dioxide and other nutrients.
Seagrass is very important to the animals in the ocean. It provides protection for many small animals and it is used as food for mostly green turtles and dugongs. The barrier reefs protect the lagoon from waves. This allows seagrass to grow.
